On March 16, near the beginning of the series of photos on Tortuguero, I showed a photo of the park ranger's boat dock entrance station. One of the readers, Brattcat (who publishes the Brattleboro, Vermont Daily Photo), left a comment about a dog that was visible on the boat dock in the background of the photo. I therefore decided to add this photo to the pictures I intended to post so that readers could get a better look at the dog who greets visitors on boats entering the waterways of Tortuguero National Park and who keeps the park ranger company.
For the next two days, I will show other photos with a dog, followed by several days of poisonous animals.

What kind of dog is it? A mutt or some breed that is registered? I know most common dogs but this one looks like it might be native to your country.
I like the welcoming party!
What a friendly looking girl she is. Do you know the story of her tail?
That looks like a puppy or an adolescent dog.
I look forward to the dog series. :-)
Abe,
I suspect that the dog is a mixed breed, but I hope that one of the readers of this blog who are much more knowledgeable about dogs than I am, such as Jilly or Glenda, will stop by today and share their knowledge to help answer your question.
Alas, my Costa Rica wildlife guidebook that I use as a reference for information about animals that I post does not have a section of the book devoted to dogs.
so cute and energetic. he looks like he is ready to play
What a cutie! What a great greeter he is. Looking foward to more dog photos!
Could be a black lab mix of some sort. Maybe some Queensland mixed in.
Lucky dog! I think she's smiling.
Nice looking dog. I looked back at the previous photo of her to try and get an idea of size. Hard to tell what she is - a mix of several generations I'd think. Just a gorgeous mutt who looks bright as a button! Looking forward to more dog photos over the next two days.
