He apparently has learned that if he digs down a little, he will find cooler sand in which to sit. He looks quite regal, like he is sitting in a little throne.
He obviously is used to spending time at the beach. What do you think he is looking at? The answer is coming up tomorow and the next day.
lovely capture
ReplyDeletelooking at another dog doing the same thing?!
it is rather amazing that the dog has figured out to dig deep in the sand to get to cool sand and sit and wait. i have never heard of that before. very smart dog.
ReplyDeleteMagiceye,
ReplyDeleteYours is a good guess, particularly in view of the photos of dogs staring at each other that I posted a week or so ago, but your guess is not correct. The answer will be revealed tomorrow and the next day.
Great shot. He's a pretty smart dog to figure out how to cool off on the beach.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever dog to dig down into the sand to get cool. Love it!
ReplyDeleteNow what is he looking at? Having read your response to magiceye I know it's not a dog. I'll guess a child!
He's a very good-looking dog, and no doubt of high canine intelligence. I'd guess he just saw two 70-year old skinny-dippers rise up from the surf and simply can't believe what he's seeing. He's thinking seriously about digging a deeper hole where such things will no longer be visible.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I may be wrong.
Jacob,
ReplyDeleteYour conjecture that the dog was looking at skinny dippers presumes that in such circumstances I would be taking photos of the dog rather than the people. Actually, I think you are right about that.
I'd probably do the same thing, too, Dave!
ReplyDeleteDepends on the skinny-dippers, of course!
But have you ever seen photos of nudie resorts!
Yikes!
Jacob,
ReplyDeleteOn the City of Phoenix public access cable channel, which the use to broadcast meetings of the City Council, etc, they had lots of extra air time to fill. They used to run a show by a nudist colony or group outside of town. Most of the camera time was by two senior citizens, one male and one female, who were sitting in front of the camera droning on about their lifestyle. Thank goodness they sat with their legs crossed.
I would worry about getting sun burned or skin cancer walking around in the Arizona desert without clothes.
In Costa RIca, there was an article in the newspaper about a small hotel in the central part of the country that has adopted a clothing optional policy and it has been very successful The proprietor, who bought the place just before the downturn in the economy, said that she would have been forced to close if it were not for her nudist theme to attract guests.
The resort has trails through the jungle. As with the Arizona nudists described above, I would want less skin exposed, not more skin exposed, while walking through the jungle. There are critters out there, and why give them more of a target, or certain areas of the body to be an available target.
Nice angle!
