While Tamarindo has a beautiful beach, there are also a lot of other nice beaches in the area. Some people who stay in our condos do not rent a car and are happy to spend their entire vacation right in Tamarindo and Langosta, perhaps with a wildlife excursion, boat outing, or zip lines to add some excitement. Other people like to drive around and explore many different beaches in the area.
I flew down to Costa Rica a few days ago from the USA with my son. Sitting in the two seats next to me were two young pharmaceutical saleswomen from New York City on their first trip to Costa Rica. They said that they had originally made plans to go to Acapulco, but decided because of the flu outbreak in Mexico to come to a beach in Costa Rica instead. They had reservations at a resort in Playa Flamingo. I was working on my lap top at the time and I had this photo on my desk top in line to be posted in a couple of days, so I was able to show them a photo of the place that they will be staying. How's that for service by a person sitting next to someone on an airplane?
I've definitely met some interesting folks and heard some interesting stories while flying. But I've never had such a great travel guide sitting beside me. Lucky girls. Is that all tourist accommodation and second homes that you see in the background?
ReplyDeleteVery nice beach indeed. so tranquil. I prefer the surf at Tamarindo and Langosta though
ReplyDeleteBrattcat,
ReplyDeleteThey are indeed tourist accommodations and vacation homes. I have another photo in my queue to be posted in about a week that shows a view of the beach on the right of this photo and that zooms across the bay to show the far hillside, with vacation homes built up the hillside to obtain a nice view of the ocean.
I appreciate the compliment implicit in your comment about having me as a travel guide on a flight to Costa RIca, but, alas, I was of limited usefulness to the two young women. They had heard of Tamarindo and had planned to go from Flamingo where they were staying to Tamarindo for the night clubs. Yes, that would make sense because Tamarindo has the most nightlife for tourists in the region, but I am not a good informational resource about night clubs. Restaurants, yes. Night clubs, no.
What a great view! The water looks somehow calmer here.
ReplyDeleteJust catching up. Sorry busy busy busy here with Grand Prix and so on. A lovely shot of such a gorgeous beach. Loved the little pup the other two dogs were looking at and that iguana is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteJilly,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments. I have some more dog on the beach photos coming up in a few days that I am sure you will enjoy.
Absolutely Beautiful !!!
