Bottlenose and spinner dolphins are common. They can be found from the Caribbean throughout the Pacific all the way to Japan. Individual dolphins are not migratory like whales, however. They tend to stay in the same general area of the ocean.
Tomorrow I will show my favorite dolphin photo. I will give you a hint or a teaser. It shows a dolphin who looks like he was auditioning for Sea World.

ReplyDeleteI used to see these out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, thousands of miles from anywhere. They seemed to dance along just in front of the ships.

ReplyDeleteI love these brothers of the sea. There was a report on NPR yesterday about the guy who trained Flipper and then grew into an outspoken advocate for freeing dolphins from captivity. Interesting interview. Great photo!
