Pablo the gardener

This is Pablo, a gardener who does a wonderful job tending to the plants in the gardens that surround our condo in the Langosta Beach section of Tamarindo. I showed a photo of Pablo about a year ago. He had been away from work for quite a while due to a serious leg injury, but he is back performing physically challenging work. I will show a photo of his very challenging work tomorrow.

Pablo speaks very good English. He is friendly and always has a smile to greet people. I asked him to interrupt his work behind our condo and pose for this photo. I neglected to ask him about whether he is a fan of the University of Florida, as he is wearing a t-shirt commemorating their national championship in football. It is not unusual to see Costa Ricans wearing clothing from U.S. sports teams, although sometimes when talking to the person they will not know about the team.

Yesterday we posted some new photos on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site. This week we are featuring photos from New Zealand.

He certainly has a beautiful place to go to work every day.

He's a hard worker. You've beautifully captured the sinewy arms and hands. The arm of this man is a work of art.

the landscaping is always so beautiful at the Langosta condo and it is god to know it is because of Pablo. He deserves the spotlight. Will we see him in action?

Hola Pablo!
It's a strange thing about clothes and trends. I see everyday a lot of people with FBI or KGB T shirts, even with old Berlin ones (you are now leaving the American sector...). Sometimes you really wonder if people know what they are actually wearing...
OK, I do have my trusty Leopold Cafe T shirt, in Bombay since 1871. But I have actually been there, many many times, long before the book Shantaram came out and made it world famous!

This is a nice portrait of your gardener. Good to hear he recovered from his injury.
As Bob mentioned before, most people don't think about the meaning of the words on their clothing as long as the shirt is either cool or comfortable or cheap or all together.
