Several days ago I posted a photo of a heron walking across a branch to stay out of reach of a crocodile. During the next few days I will show another series of encounters between these species. Tomorrow, I will show you what was lurking just to the right of this photo.

You still manage to scare the willies out of me with these teasers. As you can probably guess, I can't watch scary movies, either.

It looks like a young one. The heron that hangs around here doesn't have to be so vigilant.
