Iguana at the Airport

This is a scene I bet you do not see at home. This sidewalk is the walkway from the airport "terminal" to the boarding area and to the parking lot at Tamarindo airport. Everyone going into or out of the airport walks on this sidewalk, but who is using it now? An iguana.

Does he have a plane to catch? Where is his luggage? Maybe he is just here to greet a passenger or say goodbye to a tourist he has befriended and who is leaving for home?

Iguanas at times do take a stroll on the sidewalks of Tamarindo. This iguana is not just out for a stroll, as he did have business at the airport, as I will show tomorrow and the days that follow.

On our travel photo site, Viva la Voyage. this week we are showing some photos of the holiday season in Vienna, Austria. We hope you find them of interest.

I remember sharing the sidewalk in Quintana Roo, Mexico with pesky iguanas, but I've never seen one at an airport before!
Lovely catch, thanks for sharing it.
And Thanks for your comment over at my place.

Ciao

Well isn't he the busy guy. He probably sees people moving down this walk way and is just curious. Loved the photo of you and Julie in Tamarindo. What a great place to be during the holiday.

Nature Air sidewalk stand next to a real iguana, perfect timing to market the animals and critters of Costa Rica.

Do iguana's carry alligator skin luggage? Now I can't wait to see what his business might be at the airport.

A very common 'close encounter' in Costa Rica! :-)

He's a cute little guy! I think I've seen some of his cousins down in South Florida.

He better get out of there fast or he will be the luggage : )

There was a book my children used to love for us to read to them when they were small. It was about a brother and sister whose family moves from New York to Phoenix, called Gila Monsters Meet You At The Airport. Is this much different? If you see Emily while she's down there, ask her about it.

Hmmmm. I wonder what he's up to. I thought iguanas were usually green in your part of the world. No?

I've missed your last several posts but I've just now checked all the iguana posts. Delightful with a sense of humor re. their behavior. I really like them, and used to see many in Mazatlan. But, they get stressed easily when bystanders chase them for photographs. All these fellas you photographed seem pretty calm so you must have been careful.
