This photo of a little peninsula in Playa Flamingo bay shows how people have built houses to take advantage of the views of the ocean and bay. I will show a few more, closer views of homes in this area in the days ahead.Like the area around Tamarindo, the area around Playa Flamingo saw a boom in housing development in the 10 years leading up to the current recession. Americans and Canadians were attracted to buy land with ocean views and build houses for vacation or retirement.
