The flowers are about 7 cm by 10 cm, or about 3 by 4 inches. The flowers have a yellow throat in the center. They remind me of the size and shape of the cactus flowers in our backyard in Arizona that my wife often shows in her macro photos on her Scottsdale (Arizona) Daily Photo site.
These plants flower form July through October. They grow from sea level up to about 200 meters in elevation. This flower is only a few steps from the beach
We are showing photos of the remoteness of Aitutaki, in the Cook Islands of the South Pacific, on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

It's a beauty and I can almost smell it! You often do lots of research for your photos, and I feel educated when I finish reading your commentary. Thanks!
It looks fragile, almost papery. Now I'm wondering if it has a scent.
What an exotic beauty!
It looks like a delicate beauty.
It's gorgeous! And the plant looks beautiful too.
