Putting away the massage table

Yesterday I showed the two ladies who operate a massage business under a tree on the beach just below our Langosta condo. It is a convenience and luxury to have massages right on the beach, but it means that the ladies have to carry all of their massage tables and supplies down to the beach from the street and back every day.

Here is a photo of one of the masseuses carrying a massage table up from the beach. I guess all of the massages that she gives keeps her arms strong enough to carry such a big load.

I hope she makes a good living giving massages on the beach. Langosta Beach is not very crowded because it is a residential area. People do take walks up and down the beach, so hopefully there are enough people renting condos in the area or staying at the Barcelo Resort, which is about a block away, to give them enough massage business.

Today is Sunday, so we have new photos on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site. This week we are showing photos of the architecture of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

  1. In the long run, people who carry objects on their heads pay a terrible physical price. Damage to their bodies often is a result (I learned this while visiting India years ago). Your photo clearly shows how large some of their burdens can be.

  2. That table looks very heavy. I'm surprised a lady could even lift it.

  3. They certainly go through a lot of work to set up and take down every day. I'm with you, I hope they are doing a great business.

  5. This does look like it takes a lot of strength to hike up from the beach with this on your head.
