This is a photo of a papaya grove in the plains about a half hour east of Tamarindo. Papaya trees are native to Central America and Mexico and grow in the wild in the Pacific lowlands, such as the terrain around Tamarindo.These papaya are not growing in the wild, but are part of a plantation that is near a Del Monte packing plant.

ReplyDeleteI think the only place I have ever seen papaya growing is in Costa Rica. I see that I missed a lot of great wild life shots while I was away. Love yesterday's iguana. He's a beauty!
