I recently mentioned that Costa Rica is blessed with tropical hardwoods. Here is a photo of some of the wood bowls for sale in one of the tourist shops in Tamarindo. These bowls are works of art. Skilled artisans have selected wood with beautiful grains and shaped, turned and polished the bowls.
This week we are showing photos of the Villa Monastero on the shores of Lake Como, Italy on our
Viva la Voyage travel photos site.

Everything would taste better when eaten from such beautiful bowls.
They are both artistic and beautiful! Any problem with environment issues by using (or possible overuse)cohasi the hardwood trees?
I love the polished wood products that I brought back from my visit to Tamarindo.
The wood bowls are indeed beautiful. I see lovely bowls made from exotic woods at various art shows but have never figured out where I would put one in our home if I happened to buy one.
Just seeing them makes me want to reach out and touch the smooth surface and smell the rich aroma.
My dad is BIG into woodworking! He would have been fascinated with those bowls! And I would have bought one to put on our dining room table or mantle!
Hi there..I was just in Costa Rica and missed out on buying one (the vendor had left the beach). Any idea how I can get one?
