The price of these huge bags is the equivalent of about $10 U.S. Dollars.
The answer to my little question yesterday about the price of groceries in a local market is that our total bill came to about $11 U.S. Dollars. That is obviously a lot cheaper than similar products would have cost in the USA.
The grocery store where we bought the products was in a town that is about a half hour inland from Tamarindo, not in an with tourist facilities or attractions. It has what locals refer to as "Tico prices." The supermarket in Tamarindo, which carries many food products imported from the USA, and caters to foreign visitors and international residents, has higher prices.
