This photo is taken from the southern end of Tamarindo beach, where the waves are gentle because of the protection of an island and reef. Cabo Velas is across the bay.
One of our cameras has a viewfinder screen that swivels up, which makes it easier to take low angle shots like this, looking down at the camera rather than having to lie down on the ground to frame the shot.
This week we are showing photos of the Villa Monastero in Varenna, Italy, on the shores of Lake Como, on our Viva la Voyage travel photos site.
This looks like it would be fun to walk on the beach at low tide.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shot. I remember a lake in northern Minnesota which had a sandy bottom that sloped very gently and we though that was the greatest!
ReplyDeleteI would love to romp around here on a warm afternoon!
Re your comment on Ocala DP: This is a rather typical type of "architecture" for certain fundamentalist Christian Protestant denominations in the area...and the name, well, it's kind of a slap in the face of all the other "Christ" churches around...but many of these groups are blatantly exclusionary...
Good for beach combing!
ReplyDeleteJust like Jacob remembers a similar setting in Minnesota, I remember a beach on Cape Cod at the "inside of the elbow" that had a very flat bottom that went out seemingly for miles. My kids (and I!) loved it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful mirror.
