This is a photo of some of the moss on the trunk of the tree that I showed yesterday. I normally think of moss as growing in dark and damp areas, but our part of Costa Rica gets almost no rain for almost half of the year. I do not do many macro photos, unlike my wife, Julie, who excels at macro photography, as readers of her Scottsdale (Arizona) Daily Photo website know.

This is a lot brighter green than some of the moss I've seen in our forests.
There is an entire world just in this one moss colony, isn't there?
