Moss

This is a photo of some of the moss on the trunk of the tree that I showed yesterday. I normally think of moss as growing in dark and damp areas, but our part of Costa Rica gets almost no rain for almost half of the year.

I do not do many macro photos, unlike my wife, Julie, who excels at macro photography, as readers of her Scottsdale (Arizona) Daily Photo website know.

This week we are showing photos of the Villa Monastero on the shores of Lake Como, Italy on our Viva la Voyage travel photos site.

I love the patterns it makes on this tree.

This is a lot brighter green than some of the moss I've seen in our forests.

There is an entire world just in this one moss colony, isn't there?
