These are not fishermen, but they are workers. This looks like hard work. Their work method reflects that Costa Rica is still a developing country. as in the USA one would never see the work that they are doing performed in this manner. Costa Rica ranks close to 100 among nations in per capita income. It ranks high in education and health care. President Laura Chinchilla has set the national goal of being the first Central American country to be ranked as a developed country, and it is much more prosperous than other Central American countries, with four times the average income of nearby Nicaragua.
