Langosta beach

Here is another photo of my brother-in-law on Langosta beach, which I also showed yesterday. This photo shows the view up the beach and illustrates one of the things that we like about Langosta -- the lack of crowds.

As this photo shows, there is no one else lounging around on this stretch of beach. Langosta is a quiet, residential area. Some people walk up and down the beach. Occasionally someone like my brother in law will plant themselves on the beach with a beach chair or towel.

We never see a scene like beaches in the USA where you have to worry about other people nearby making noise, playing loud music, or kicking up sand as they walk by.

For a very different beach scene, check out our photos of Easter Island this week on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

It sure does look quiet there. Probably that would deter some visitors, who like more action. Not me.

Re typewriters, I was a second year associate at a Boston law firm when IBM rolled out its erasable typewriters, which we all thought was the peak of technology. The firm bought three or four a month and assigned the new typewriters to its secretaries in prioritized order. I got a big ego boost when my secretary got one of the earliest erasable typewriters because I staffed two of the rainmaker partners. Several junior partners and senior associates screamed, but I kept my head down.

Very peaceful looking.
I have to disagree about the US beaches though. I know a beach where you might not see anyone for hours. I won't say where though because then everyone would go there.

Delightful solitude! I also agree with Jarart because it depends upon the beach. We vacation a lot on Door County in the summer, and the beaches there can be either crowded or pretty vacant. Lake Michigan is probably not as welcoming as the one you show...gets pretty cold on the lake!

Thats what is so appealing about this beach. You are able to relax and enjoy with no one around to distract or interrupt your tranquility.

I love beaches with dense vegetation like all I've visited in Costa Rica. Wish I was there now! :-)
