Fishermen yield to the sea

The ocean seems to be telling these fishermen, "It is time to go in, or at least time to fish from the beach." If they do not leave soon, even if they are out of the waves, they will have no way to get back to the beach without jumping into the surf and struggling back.

The two fishermen got the message, although one of them seems more nonchalant about the waves than the other. They left the rock at this point, as the rock at times has waves crashing over it and at high tide is covered by the ocean.

Tomorrow I will show one of my favorite photos from this series of photos from my little walk on the beach.

This week we are showing photos of the gardens of Villa d'Este, on the shores of Lake Como, Italy, one of the world's most elegant hotels, on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

the posture of the bowed boy looks as if it could be from a classical painting.

In the niche of time! The spray is wonderfully demonstrative of the force of the waves!

Whew...it's about time they got the message.

Dave, when you are a teenaged boy, it takes many signals to persuade you to do something you don't want to do, like leave. Remember? Like getting hit over the head?

Uho, time to go indeed !
There's always a temptation to stay a little longer but fishermen die every year from not being wary enough of freak waves.
