Inside the Santa Cruz Church

Inside the Santa Cruz church on the Saturday afternoon of my visit was what seemed to be similar to a revival meeting. It was not a mass. There was no priest. A lay person from San Jose was conducting the meeting to a packed audience.

Here you see some young girls sitting on the floor and playing with each other, sharing the aisle with a woman in a wheel chair, while the leader speaks from the podium.

I will show some more scenes from the inside of the church during the coming days.

This week we have photos of the Music Palace in Barcelona on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site. This week we are showing the interior of the Music Palace in Barcelona.

There's something very attractive about the lay people being in charge of a worship service. I like the casualness and friendliness of the atmosphere. I am puzzled about the symbolism of the artwork above what I presume is the tabernacle...a cloud burst??? Or???

It's always interesting for me to see the interior of churches, their design and decorations!

I wonder if it was a community meeting or some type of religious event. Interesting.

It is an interesting cross-section of villagers attending.

I was very impressed with the church architecture in CR, built with side walls that allowed for the free passage of air under the roof's shade. The big church in Liberia (is it a cathedral?) was a good example.
