I was able to choose this photo for theme day without interrupting my series on the Papagayo peninsula, as this creature emerged from the bushes as Julie and I were photographing the sunset, standing on a street right next to some expensive homes under construction.
Because the theme is for a mystery object, I will continue the mystery for another day for those of you who do not know what this is. Unless you live somewhere from Brazil to Mexico, you have not seen these animals, except perhaps in the zoo. In Costa Rica, we see them usually at dusk.
This week we are showing photos of the Music Palace in Barcelona on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.
whatever he is, i would not like him to bite or scratch me.
ReplyDeletearound the eyes he resembles a racoon a little. But by golly those fangs. And the narrow snout, for getting in and sucking blood and marrow.
ReplyDeleteNo idea what he is ... but agree with BC.
Is this the animal that scratched at the condo door when Julie and I were down there?
ReplyDeleteI love watching these animals saunter around
ReplyDeleteIt looks unfriendly, and badger-like. Or maybe it's just yawning. I'll be back to find out.
ReplyDeleteWhat it is you really caught the moment, Dave. Super.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great capture and a cool creature!
ReplyDeleteWhatever it is, I want at least 50 yards between him and me.
ReplyDeleteGodo idea to post a local animal? Anxious to read your entry today.
ReplyDeleteGreat timing! Fantastic shot, David.
