Waiting in the airport departure halll

This shows photo shows why they needed and built a new airport terminal at the Liberia airport. This is a departure hall in the current airport terminal. You may notice the giant ceiling fan. Yes, that means that it is not air conditioned. It is a basic, no frills facility, with open sides, including open to the tarmac, for air circulation.

The new terminal is air conditioned and will make a much more pleasant experience for arriving and departing passengers.

This week we are showing photos of San Pedro de Atacama, the main town in the Atacama desert of northern Chile on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

  1. (Catching up...too tired to blog while on our drive with our dog which is taking longer than planned! We're almost in Santa Fe...)

The contrast between the two terminal buildings tells the whole story. Yes, it is needed!

  4. Yes, it does look pretty basic.

Re your comment today, the lead guitar and lead singer is the president of our biggest subsidiary (he paid his way through school with band gigs), the rhythm guitar is the chief tax counsel and vocals and trumpet is the VP for Communications. Pretty cool.

  6. I always enjoy "people watching" in airport terminals, although I prefer terminals with a/c, sufficient bars and restaurants, clean restrooms and comfortable seating.

I'm not asking for too much, am I?
