But while I was taking photos of this dog on the beach, the dog became curious about this woman, which gave me a brief moment to decide whether to take this photo of, yes, the dog. It was a very brief photo opportunity, as this woman quickly sensed the breath on her chest and her reaction caused this too-friendly dog to wander off .
While my wife might think it is not appropriate to take photos of sun bathers, my mother-in-law loves photos of dogs. I decided to seek to please my mother-in-law by reacting quickly and taking this photo. She approved.
Whenever we travel, I try to take a least a couple of photos of dogs in distinctive foreign locations and my mother-in-law keeps several albums of my dogs-around-the-world photos on her coffee table. Yes, her affinity for dogs borders on an obsession, from the other side of the border.
Today is Sunday, so we have new photos on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site. This week my wife has posted some macro photos of plants and a very unusual animal on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Oh yes, this would have been my favourite too! And you really can't see who the sunbather is so no worries there. Wishing you a very Happy New Year, Dave and thanks so much for your regular and much appreciate visits and comments on my blogs. xxx
there's something very dear about this shot, dave. i'm glad you took it, too. best wishes in the new year to you and julie and your canine-loving, very kind mother-in-law.
I think this is a very charming moment you captured! Happy New Year!
Dave, I've tried three times to leave a comment on Julie's blog but the page comes up blank. Have had this problem before as you know. Maybe you could mention it to her?
The dog's curiosity gave you a great photo op. I look forward to more canine photos in 2012!
What a great moment in time that you have preserved here. You can instantly feel what is going to happen next. This is such a fun shot.
I love this. You just cannot go wrong with a dog in a shot
Happy New Year from Austin, Tx
You also can't go wrong with a pretty girl in a shot. Is there a dog in this one? (Nice shot.)
I like it! I can imagine her surprise when she noticed the dog so close.
Excellent choice to the theme day. Happy New Year!
It's a great choice, because we need to rest after a hard New Year's Eve. Happy New Year!
This is a fun shot and shows the curiosity that dogs have with things or people new in their surroundings.
I figure if you're out in public wearing underwear you're fair game.
Sometimes it pays to be a dog! :-)
Happy 2012!
Happy 2012, Dave!

Happy New Year, Dave. The year-end photography competition here that I always enter has a humor category. There are not many entries, or many good ones. This image could win it.
Don't work too late.
Excellent catch!
Redefining Oblivion wishes you a Very Happy, Healthy, Prosperous and Purposeful 2012, and beyond.
Thank you for making me giggle.

Ha ha.
What a great capture, Dave! Best wishes in 2012.
Great choice for the theme Dave, excellent candid shot, wonder if she was relieved to look up and see the dog when she felt the warm breath haha!
Very nice job catching a moment like that.
