All photographers have felt the frustration of having a good subject to photograph, but having a problem with the background. Maybe there are too many other people around, or a sign or some other object that interferes with the purity of the subject.
i guess there was a problem with the spot where this photographer's friend was surfing, and she wanted to move her to the right.
There is a problem with my composition of this photo. The left hand of the photographer is right on the line separating the Tamarindo Bay from Cabo Velas. This violates one of the principles of composition, with is separation of subjects. I point out this flaw in the photo in case it might be overlooked by the very few viewers who might not be focused on her hand.
We are showing photos of African wildlife this week on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.
What hand?!
ReplyDeleteYou are making me laugh!
ReplyDeleteYou're funny, Dave.
ReplyDeleteI noticed her hand right away. Not sure why you had to point it out.
ReplyDeleteThey say surfer dudes. What when it is a woman? Surfer dudette?
ReplyDeleteComposition wise, the only thing wrong with this scene is that you cropped away some of her right foot.
ReplyDeleteHand? Oh, I see it now. Rules are made to be broken. Did you notice how, on the left, the girl's buttocks are uneven. I mention that just in case you missed it.

ReplyDeleteAh, yes, the separation principle. That is what I was going to say.
