The woman recovered and resumed her short walk to the beach. Fortunately, it is a short walk, as the ocean is visible at the end of this path.
On our Minnesota canoe portage that I have been relating, after carrying the canoe that Julie dropped and left behind, I found her carrying a load that she found to be more suitable for her. Two fishing poles. Our 11 year old niece was carrying a heavy pack. Julie rationalized this incongruity by saying that our little niece was strong because she plays ice hockey. (Our niece is now getting her Ph.D. in marine biology.)
We have photos of street scene and people of Grenada, Nicaragua posted this week on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.
Recovering after a fall is always a good thing! Julie is a woman after my own heart. My primary activity while canoeing is sitting in the middle of the canoe between two sturdy canoeists .. all the while snacking on the delicacies I prepared for this strenuous journey! Enjoy the Vernal Equinox!
ReplyDeleteOnward they go!
ReplyDeleteI had to go back and look at your previous posts to get the full impact of this. Looks like one of the first rules of surfing is "Take care of your own surfboard!"
ReplyDeleteI had confidence in this young lady all along.
