Pelican flying over the surf

I usually show surfers riding the waves, but pelicans skimming the water or flying overhead are also enjoyable to watch, especially when the dive into the water for a fish

    Love pelicans. They were almost extinct here when we first moved to Florida in 1985 but with the banning of DDT, they've come back big time!

    Pelicans have the aerodynamics of cargo planes. Built for carrying power, not for speed.
