A Duality of Angels

Duality is a common theme in Latin American cultures.  In this photo, the angel in the cemetery is echoed in the distance by the Angel Moroni, which is on the top of the Mormon Temple and is visible in the distance near the center right of this photo.

This week we are showing photos of the people of the Sepik River, Papua New Guinea on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

Angels are wonderful icons in many different venues.

This angel appears to be standing guard.

I think I see the other one but can't quite make it out but this one angel makes an outstanding statement. I think we saw this one from the side a few days ago with one more in the background.

Very elaborate statuary in this cemetary.

I would not have spotted Moroni unless you had pointed it out, and there's a big one here at the Mormon Temple along U.S. 40 in West County. Time to get out the really long lens.
