In Tamarindo, you would not expect a dog to be waiting with a newspaper and slippers for the master to return from a busy day at the office. Here is a more typical pose for a waiting dog in Tamarindo -- a dog waiting for his master to finish surfing!
The patience of this dog is even more admirable when you consider that this dog would not seem to be the most suited to the climate along the warm Pacific coast of Costa Rican. I am sure that he enjoys the breeze off the ocean, and of course he can take a dip in the ocean to cool off, but in the warm weather 12 months of the year in our area of Costa Rican he will never experience the temperatures for which his thick coat was intended.
Maybe his owner is on vacation in Tamarindo from the central highlands that I have shown in my photos during the last few days. This photo was taken very close to our Langosta Beach condo.
We are showing photos this week of the unique Mayan pyramid of Ek Balam in the Yucatan, Mexico at Viva la Voyage.

What a great idea for today's theme!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed catching up with your latest posts too. I loved your pasture lands and mountains shots - and congratulations on your hummingbird photo, these little creatures are so hard to photograph, aren't they?
This photo of WAITING is perfect for theme day. As I've mentioned on other posts that featured dogs, when they wait for their masters, canines are the picture of patience.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, dogs - the most faithful creatures who wait for us forever. A lovely shot and as you say different to the dog with pipe and slippers waiting. Beautiful image, Dave.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, his coat was made for a cooler climate. He is a loyal friend, waiting patiently.
ReplyDeleteI, too, was surprised to see this breed on the beaches of Costa Rica. Really interesting entry for theme day, Dave.
ReplyDeleteGreat image of a dog on the beach. i bet dogs really love the ocean and the waves just like people do. truly excellent image for theme day
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful shot for the theme! It reminded me of the dog that I photographed on the beach along the Oregon coast waiting for the return of his surfing master. Dogs are faithful friends where ever they may live.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's a good theme photo! I picked a dog waiting for mine, too; dogs wait. I'll have to go look at your Mayan pyramid photos now as well.

Strange, I don't associate these dogs with that climate! Excellent post!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike but you have a much better location for your background, I needed to zoom right in and cut mine out.
ReplyDeleteDogs are said to be the 6th sense for us humans - many times knowing more, maybe time to sit and wait and see what he's looking at.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful Wednesday for you all.
This looks like an Alaskan Malamute and you are correct this is not his favorite temp. zone. This is such a good choice for theme day. I know my dogs have done their share of waiting.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful portrait of this gorgeous dog. Great choice for Theme Day!
