Caracol candle and wine

The candle on each table at the Caracol Restuarant is set inside a shell candle holder. Caracol means shell in Spanish. If you look at the shape of the opening in the shells used for candle holders, you will see that it is also the shape of the entrance to the restaurant.

The exterior view of the restaurant that I showed several days ago also showed that the circular design of the restaurant is composed of a series of arches in the roof line that are also shaped like shells.

I will share with you the dining experience that we had in my next few posts. It will save you a couple of hundred dollars.

This week we are showing photos of some of the quietly beautiful scenes of Yosemite National Park on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

  1. You are so thoughtful to think of my pocketbook! Must be quite a meal at that price! I love the glow of the candle in the shell in your photo. I hope you ordered food that I like!

  2. A very pleasant table! I take it from your comment that this place does not serve the great meals at economical prices that I had while in Costa Rica.

  3. Very pretty setting.
I thought that caracol translated to snail. But then when I looked it up, the word has more than one meaning.

  4. Thank you for the explanation. I was sure the restaurant entrance was something about boat, turned up side down. Beautiful photo.
