La Baula Restaurant

This is a photo of La Baula, a popular restaurant in Tamarindo. They have excellent pizza. Like most restaurants in Tamarindo, even those serving gourmet food, the dining area of the restaurant is open air.

Baula means leatherback turtle, and much of the ocean in Tamarindo bay and the beach north of Tamarindo, Playa Grande, is part of Las Baulas National Marine Park.

I will show one of the benefits of open air restaurants tomorrow and the following few days.

This week we are showing photos of Bellagio and Varenna, Italy, two charming towns on the shores of Lake Como on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

This looks like a great place to eat.

I love it. Open air dining is wonderful, though in many climes it is an option for only a short period.

Love the shot. Balmy evenings, good food with friends. Look forward to more restaurant photos...
