A photographer's dilemma

On my little walk on the beach I noticed this woman sun bathing. I thought to myself, "Should I take a photo?" I did not want to intrude on her privacy, which was not a problem, as I have a 200mm zoom lens, and this photo does not even show the woman's identity.

But I don't normally take photos of women lying around in swim suits. After all, I am a happily married man. Then I saw this dog running around. I like to take photos of dogs playing in the surf. So I took some photos of the dog.

Then the dog got curious about the woman and decided to go check her out. That gave me the opportunity to get my photo. After all, when I got back to our condo and downloaded my photos, I showed Julie my series of photos of the dog and then, oops, in this photo this woman got in the way of my dog pictures.

Somewhere in this dog's training, I think someone skipped a lesson about manners and eye contact when greeting a woman. This scene lasted only for an instant, as the woman quickly noticed what I assume was heavy breathing on her . . . . well, you get the picture.

This week we are showing photos of the gardens of Villa d'Este, on the shores of Lake Como, Italy, one of the world's most elegant hotels, on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

That dog's curiosity could get him a little slap!

I'm wondering if this is her dog. Dogs are very curious critters.

What a cheeky dog. You are right, I've never posted such a pic - the dogs must be far too polite around here! Super shot. Love it! I really like that you are down low and seeing life at dog height.

Heavy breathing on you while you sunbathe on the beach, yes I get the picture. Great catch !

While I was sitting on the beach last week I had a dog come over and check out on me, and then he (a male) peed on my foot (well almost, his urine missed me by a couple of inches but he definitely lifted its hind leg over my foot). What a bad mannered dog ! I was quite upset - and no master to be seen.

@Dave I'm glad you made the shot at the end. Regarding the dilemma, I'll just say that if you find beauty that should be captured, go and capture it, obviously keeping the line of respect :)
