For today's worldwide City Daily Photo theme of "squares" I chose this photo of the main square in downtown San Jose.
I took this photo from the steps of the National Cathedral. The concrete gazebo is in the square and, I assume, is a venue for events. There are lots of red taxicabs in the foreground.
I had considered using the square at the top of the bridge I posted yesterday for the theme, but chose this different type of square instead.
This week we have photos of the architecture of Portugal posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.
To see how other City Daily Photo bloggers have interpreted the theme, use this link.

Squares, plazas. . .whatever they are labeled, these focal points in the center of a town are wonderful community gathering places. You could add a "red theme" to this photo, too!
clever take!
what a good photo for today's theme
Wow! Thee a a lot of red cars there!
Good take on the theme.
I like the way you think Dave :) nice one for the theme.
What a busy 'square' you have there. Nicely done!
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought the red had something to do with it being May Day (Labour Day) today.... but this is just a workaday square! Loved it!!
Location's the way I went with this theme too. This square looks quite appealing.
There are quite a lot of red cars in this shot!
