For this photo, I crouched down on my knees to get a shot of the religious figure near the altar from an angle to capture a stained glass window under the eaves of the church in the background. It was impossible to have depth of field large enough for both the foreground and background to be in focus, of course, especially in the low indoor light.
We are showing photos of Bellagio, Italy, and Lake Como this week on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site. Come see the location that inspired a Vegas casino.
I like this shot very much. It has a much more church-like look to it.
is she the same one having a conversation with the woman from your previous image?
Well, this is gorgeous. You wouldn't want the window to be in focus as that would take away from the lady!
Funny comment about the Sheriff's golf cart. Merci!
Yes, this is a close up of the same statue that I showed from a more distant perspective with the woman contemplating it.
This looks great with that background.
This is a particularly nice shot, Dave. Shooting up emphasizes the religiosity, and using a narrow depth of field concentrates attention on the statue's face. Good one.
Re your comment to Sharon: You have never owned cowboy boots? I can understand no bolo tie, but no cowboy boots? Time to go shopping this weekend!
I really like this picture !!!!!!!!!
Beautiful composition! Well done, David.
