Leather bag

This photo is a closer view of the leather bag on the chair that I showed yesterday. The names of the ranch, Hacienda LaPinta and Hacienda Guastomate are engraved onto the leather on this bag.

I admire that human cultures, from the earliest civilizations to modern times that include quality workmanship and decorative touches to everyday objects.

Well, enough for photos of the porch. Shall we go inside? Come back tomorrow and we'll have a look.

Today is Sunday, so we have new photos on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site. This week we are showing photos of the Atacama Desert in Chile, the driest desert in the world, featuring a unique, colorful landscape.

Looks like a sturdy bag. Will never get lost with the name of the ranch on it. What is kept in the bag??

Love this kind of bags, the kind you use for 30 or 50 years!

I love the materials things are made with, the beautiful warm wood used to make the chairs is divine, they look so welcoming and as for that bag, the leather looks soft and well worn just the way leather should be, the colour is wonderful. Love these images Dave.

Now that's the way things should be made but unfortunately the world will never go back to such .... if we can somehow encourage those with the skills to make these kinds of things - that would at least be something!
